My late Father Peter Rousseau always spoke so fondly of Edwin Hargitt and the family and the kindness you all showed us all as a family. I was walking down Eaton Place and St Peter's Church in London today and you and your family came into my thoughts. Thinking of you all. The years may pass, the rawness gets that little bit easier from loss, but the memories and kindness etched in the minds of others has an impact for a lifetime. Thank you

I knew Edwin and latterly worked for him in the mid 1990s. He was a very kind, humorous and gentle man.

It was with sadness that I have learned of the death of Edwin Hargitt. He was generous in allowing me to use his premises in London during the early 1990s to offer Christian counselling and pastoral support to folk from varius churches in the London area. I lost contact not long after the onset of his illness.
Many a time, if he were in the building in London, he would make a pot of coffee and we would chat at the end of the day.
He was a quiet, gracious man with similar faith.
I shall ever remember him with fondness and my thoughts are with the family.

To all who celebrate Ed's life on this earth --
We have known Ed for about fifty years. And yes, we have known Marea, Vel and all of Ed's children. We have watched the children grow up, marry and have children of their own. Ed's life reaches out beyond the limits of our imagination.
Ed left behind many wonderful memories. We still laugh about our weekends at the Indiana Dunes.
He'll be missed on this earth. but there might be a reunion someday at the great Dunes in the Sky! Hope so...
Love and condolences to all the family!

My deepest sympathy, thought and prayers are with the Hargitt family and extended family at this time. Edwin was not only a brilliant businessman, he was also kind, generous, loving and the epitome of a true Christian gentleman. He was held in high regard by all who had the good fortune to know him. He is missed and will remain fondly in our memories and hearts.
